Puffin and Blackjack, the Scare of One Life!

In my last post, Blackjack is a daredevil. Last night he was given the scare of one of his nine lives. The family was watching a movie together when all of a sudden something black came out of the corner of my eye and hit the coffee table. The whole family was stunned and so was poor Blackjack. He was trying to jump to the ledge to look over at the family when he misjudged the jump, and slipped over the ledge and down one story to the family room coffee table. Everyone jumped up, even the family dog Bailey and moved toward him. He was stunned and ran to the corner. I went over and examined him all over and once I determined he was ok whisked him up in my arms and held him close. His poor little heartbeat was racing and I just held him till he was able to calm down. Thank goodness no broken bones or anything else seriously hurt, but my guess is that he will not be jumping up on the ledge for a long while.
